We all know that the past few weeks have been a little crazy with COVID-19. As a small business owner, they can also be scary. A lot of businesses have had to close down shop due to the pandemic and you might be afraid of that happening to you too. But at Nick the Marketer, we’re here to tell you that taking this time to invest in your business, learn a new skill, and even take some time to spend with your family can be a good thing for not only your business but for you as well. We’ve got some great tips on things you should do for your business while stuck inside your home!
Don’t Give Up on your Marketing
We know, we know, of course a marketing company would say this but it’s so true! A lot of your competitors might be stopping or stalling their marketing efforts while waiting for this to blow over, but you shouldn’t be one of them. Keeping your marketing efforts going during this time is the perfect chance for your business to get ahead of the competition.
Jazz Up your Social Media
When in the office, you might often feel like you’re running around with a million things to do. While as a business owner working on your business during a pandemic, you might still feel that way, chances are you’ve also been taking advantage of the bit of downtime that you find in your day to day too. Take it as an opportunity to spend a little more time on your social media! Hop on stories, show people your day to day, or post about what your at home set up looks like. If you’ve got other employees working from home try doing an Instagram takeover where they show what they’re working on too. Whatever you decide, make sure you’re engaging with your followers to keep you and your business at the top of their minds.
Move Your Product or Services Online
Over the past week, we’ve seen a big shift in how businesses are promoting their products or services. Whatever you’re offering, you should be moving them towards an online focus for a while. If you have in-store products list them for sale on an e-commerce platform and deliver them to your customers to avoid social gatherings. If you are a service based company offer virtual consultations. Another thing we’ve seen a lot of clients or customers do is purchase gift cards as a way for people to still support their favorite businesses! Now’s the time for you to be extra creative when it comes to how you deliver.
Learn a New Skill
If you have the funds, now is the perfect time to invest back into your business with courses or guides. Spend the extra time we have on our hands currently to learn something new that could benefit your business! That could be learning more about Google or Facebook Ads, how to launch a podcast, or better ways to run your social media. Looking to learn how to rank your business on Google Maps? We’ve got a guide for you so you can learn how to for FREE. Check it out on the homepage of our website!
